Actually, that's a lie - but it rhymed. We've not been bored, but we've not been doing much exciting either. In addition to accomplishing appointments and other admin stuff (which do tend to be boring) we've mostly been quietly enjoying ourselves as a family... watching TV, playing games, going on walks, etc. Good for us, but not very interesting as blog fodder.
So... time for some "goodbye to Cairo" flashbacks!
We said goodbye to school...
We spent a lot of time hanging out with friends... with all our stuff packed up, kids had to be creative for playtime fun... We had a few more dance lessons... and some watergun fights... and, of course, there was a ton of swimming to fit in before we left. We also went on a lovely boat ride with 'goodbye party' picnic on the water. It was a beautiful day to be out on the water!
And we went on a last minute trip to the Citadel, the most medieval place in Egypt, and al-AzharPark, an amazing oasis of green in downtown Cairo. (The Tour Egypt links above are wonderful resources - please visit their sites and read a bit!). We had another clear and beautiful day for it - although it started to get hot by the end of the day.
Ok. Now... eventually... we do plan on doing more exciting and bloggable stuff, but for the near future, we are doing what I recommend that everybody do with their summer. Chill out and enjoy. :)
Hey Chris, I think you've all been having a great time -we've mostly been quietly enjoying ourselves as a family... watching TV, playing games, going on walks, etc. - that is the stuff of a good life! Have a great weekend.
Glad to hear that you guys are having fun together! Enjoy the summer and don't worry about us . . . we'll still be here when you have something you think is worthy of blogging (though I think walks and such are totally worth putting up, just so you know). :)
Hi Connie Thanks for the La Nouba site it looks awesome. Mac and I would love to see O and Beatles Love too but we would have to make it to Las Vegas for that. We are hoping one day to live a bit closer to that side of the world. Hope you guys are all doing ok in the 'between time'. I miss reading your news and hearing about what youve been up to!! Do you know when you move on yet?
Fun, fun pictures! We miss you!

ReplyDeleteFamily stuff is always the best kind of fun! Isn't it great to watch kids see things for the first time?! I love it!
ReplyDeleteYou guys enjoy yourselves and get back to us in your own time when you are settled. We will be here waiting, no matter how long it takes.
You girls are very cute.

ReplyDeleteI keep checking back to see what you've been up to and to see if you have written about where you'll be moving.
ReplyDeleteI now have a blog.
School is starting so I figured you are moved, unpacked and about to start blogging again. The big question - where are you?
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great summer back in the States.
